Peacocks Tearoom Menu

Soup of the Day
Every day we serve a homemade soup with one of Rachel's freshly-baked cheese scones. To provide variety for our regular customers, we often try out new recipes - whether it is simple tomato, or apple, pea and mint our soup is made in our own kitchen with fresh ingredients. We try, where possible, to source our ingredients locally - from Bill Heap's hand-reared fen-grown carrots to the gooseberries and other delicacies from local market gardens.

Dish of the Day
Again, we ring the changes with our dish of the day which can range from local sausages in red wine, with mashed potatoes and green beans, to beef bourguignon. Usually it comes out of the oven for 12 noon, and when it has gone, it's gone.

Light Lunches
Our grilled open sandwiches on toasted rye bread served with a mixed side salad are wonderful and range from goats cheese and tomato salsa to stilton pear and walnut. Our menu also includes four delicious variants of the classic French croque monsieur (although we doubt whether you'll find a croque as delicious in Paris) as well as scrambled egg and smoked salmon, and more.
